Faculty Work Gallery
This month, we introduced a project led by Professor Ioannis Brilakis from the University of Cambridge. If you are interested in showcasing your research, grants, book releases, conference presentations, or any work you deem valuable and interesting to share, please feel free to contact us.
Working with the Greater Cambridge Partnership, Professor Ioannis Brilakis (Laing O'Rourke Professor of Civil and Information Engineering at University of Cambridge) is introducing AI and advanced scanning techniques to predict and prevent road damage before it evolves into dangerous potholes. The project includes creating a “digital twin” of Cambridge’s roads—a comprehensive, AI-analysed map that identifies and categorises road defects such as cracks, rutting, and shoving. The goal is to monitor and maintain road conditions proactively, utilising data from sensor-equipped vehicles to continuously update the map and pinpoint emerging problems.

After these studies, NVIDIA has been stated to have a robust financial situation and a stable position among close competitors. NVIDIA owns the industry environment and a larger seller market. The passage also shows some of the strategies NVIDIA has adopted or is suitable for it to adopt.
Social Media Attention and Corporate Earnings Management: Perspective from Baidu Post Bar
Corporate earnings management encompasses the strategies employed by corporate leaders to manipulate or adjust a company’s financial performance, with the ultimate goal of enhancing its market valuation, which may cause the distortion of accounting information. As investors give increasing emphasis to earnings management practices in modern capital market, social media attention has also become a possible factor affecting earnings management. This paper uses the theoretical framework of linear regression analysis, combines Python and other software to conduct an in-depth examination of the relationship between social media attention and the practices of corporate earnings management and analyzes relevant cases by taking Baidu Tieba data as an example.
